Clownfish Portrait #1
My first encounter with Nemo, or anemonefish, was in Papua New Guinea. This macro image required lots of patience as this little fish never sits still!
Gorgonian Reef #1
A large gorgonian sea fan is found in a chasm in a tropical reef off the coast of Papua New Guinea in the south Pacific ocean.
Three anemonefish in green anemone
Papua New Guinea in the south Pacific is a wonderful destination for SCUBA divers. Macro subjects abound including these clownfish swimming above their host anemone.
Feather Star #1
Feather stars are a type of echinoderm. Their little feet allow them to walk around and are actually quite mobile. If they sense danger, they can release themselves from the reef and pulsate in order to swim.
Soft Coral Reef #1
Before my SCUBA diving trip to the tropical nation of Papua New Guinea, I was hoping to see some soft coral reefs. Here, a large coral hangs from the current swept reef in order to feed.
