One of my favorite aspects of landscape photography is the discovery of new location. Whether they are far off the beaten path or right under your nose, finding a new landscape to photography always gets the creative juices flowing. This stretch of rocky coast has amazing lines and I wanted to showcase them as best as possible. A black and white rendering helps emphasize the textures, contrasts, and forms.
Although a neighborhood is right behind me, the natural beauty and expanse of the ocean is right at your doorstep when you live on the coast. On this overcast morning, I made this image using a long expsoure to smooth the ocean and show movement in the sky.
