The badlands at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley are truly amazing. I was fortunate to photograph them under fiery skies one sunrise in winter.
While the rain let up, I was driving to photograph sunset. A rainbow appeared so strong and vivid, the goal became simply to find a location to photograph it.
While heading home from the eastern Sierra, the subdued moody light on Wheeler Crest required me to pull over and snap a few photos. The craggy mountain ridges with the low clouds made for a beautiful scene.
