After camping nearby, I awoke to a clear yet calm morning up in the John Muir Wilderness. The lake was as smooth as glass and the reflections of the craggy granite of Picture Peak were simply beautiful.
Near Yosemite lies the Little Lakes Valley. This backcountry wilderness is full of craggy mountains and cascades of flowing water, a true mountain landscape of the Sierra Nevada.
A golden grove of aspens glows with back lit sunlight during the peak of fall color in the Eastern Sierras. This stand of trees was along the road to Lundy Canyon near Mono Lake.
